Can a Tait portable survive the raw ocean?

Tait radios are IP67 certified, which means they have been proven to survive below 1 meter of water for thirty minutes. But the IP67 test occurs in a controlled and calm tube of water. We wanted to see how a Tait portable would handle being tossed into the ocean, full of crashing waves, salt, depth, sand, and even the occasional shark.

Tait Communications was recognized for its new high-tech campus at the prestigious EECA awards ceremony held at the Auckland Museum on Wednesday, 28 May.
Tait was named winner of the Christchurch Energy Champion award, in recognition of its leadership in energy efficiency and innovation during the Christchurch rebuild.

The $35 million Tait campus development is set on 11ha of land alongside Tait’s existing buildings and features the construction of an über energy efficient new headquarters for up to 350 of its Christchurch-based employees.

On Saturday, May 17, more than 700 fire fighters from New Zealand, Australia and the USA climbed the 1,103 steps to the top of Auckland’s Sky Tower in full fire fighting kit weighing 25kg.

This was the 10th anniversary of the event and to mark the occasion, the fire fighters set themselves the challenge of raising $1M for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer (LBC).
