MACC 9-1-1 is the sole Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in Grant County, WA. In 2013, MACC 9-1-1 received 63,831 emergency and non-emergency calls.

Dean Hane manages the MACC 9-1-1 radio communications infrastructure and system, dispatch console system and first responder subscriber equipment, and he recently shared about his experience working with Tait.

Tait, together with MACC 9-1-1, installed an 11-site TaitNet P25 Trunked Simulcast Network (800 MHz). Mr Hane says, we got the ‘full P25 meal deal’ with:

When Jim Wells County, an expansive county in South Texas and home to more than 40,000 citizens, first met us, they faced the threat of an outdated analog radio communications system that was unreliable and endangering the lives of the County’s law enforcement and emergency responders.

We committed to understanding the issues the County faced – a unique geography, limited funds, dated equipment and a tight schedule and delivered a three-site hybrid P25 digital and analog simulcast system. A high-powered delegation from Chile has visited our headquarters in Christchurch on a fact-finding mission to learn how Tait’s innovative communications systems can help the country in the event of a natural disaster or emergency such as the devastating 2010 Chilean earthquake.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) hosted senior representatives from the Oficina Nacional de Emergencias del Ministerio del Interior (ONEMI), the Chilean Cabinet and the Los Lagos Emergency and Civil Protection who were in New Zealand to learn about the preparation and planning New Zealand agencies have undertaken since the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes.
