Tait is expanding the global reach of its DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) Tier 3 technology solution with contract signings in three key global markets.
Queensland Rail (Australia), Entropia Digital (UK and Europe) and Manitoba Hydro (Canada) have all called on Tait to provide reliable, interoperable, mission critical radio communication systems to support their operations.
Tait designs and builds proven DMR Tier 3 trunked networks that critical industries around the world rely on for safety, productivity and automation. Thanks to the open standards technology on which all Tait products are based, the Tait digital terminals are compatible with existing analog systems, such as the Zetron dispatch consoles used by both Queensland Rail and Manitoba Hydro.
These recent contracts are testament to the confidence that you can place in Tait products, services and support services. Our experience in large-scale deployments, ability to deliver in time, and the quality of our terminals are just some of the reasons why Queensland Rail, Entropia Digital and Manitoba Hydro have chosen Tait.
Queensland Rail has selected Tait for the digital migration of its radio communications network. The DMR system will replace the old network and provide important communications infrastructure for Queensland Rail’s day-to-day operations.
As the largest rail network in Australia, Queensland Rail needed the reliability and open standards technology that the Tait DMR Tier 3 could provide.
Brett Smythe, General Manager for Tait Asia-Pacific says “Tait’s emphasis on a comprehensive implementation and support plan, incorporating deployment, migration, risk management, change management and project management were all key factors in securing the contract.”

Tait will also provide a digital radio network for Entropia Digital, a European digital mobile telecommunications company that provides wireless communications for utilities, security contractors, local authorities, roadside assistance and transportation companies. Tait and Entropia have previously worked together with Tait providing base stations and terminals for their paging network.
This long term project ,which commences in London before expanding into other key metropolitan areas across the UK, will deploy a minimum of 200 sites and more than 10,000 radios used by the various agencies.
The contract is especially significant for Tait in terms of scale and level of partnership. It also speaks volume of the capability, flexibility and scalability of the Tait DMR Tier 3. Entropia will rely on trusted Tait support services 24/7 to keep their mission and commercial critical network up and running.

Like Queensland Rail and Entropia, Manitoba Hydro will also be able to enjoy the benefits of greater coverage, enhanced voice quality, data capabilities for distribution automation and improved worker safety with the Tait DMR Tier 3. Canadian company Manitoba Hydro is the third utilities company to recently sign on with Tait following a successful deployment of DMR Tier 3 networks for North American utilities Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) and Grant County Public Utility District (Grant PUD) in Washington State.
Tait will also provide support services for Manitoba Hydro through its Service Advantage Program. Manitoba Hydro will have the peace of mind that they have a team of experts available 24/7 to provide technical support.
