In this blog series, we focus on some of our key technology partners and take a look and how these solutions come to life and deliver value for our clients.

Zetron in the Partner Spotlight

One of Tait’s global technology partners is Zetron, a leading manufacturer and provider of award-winning, high-quality control room solutions that scale from enterprise level through to mission-critical public safety applications. The Zetron console system allows customers to visualize and control critical communications networks to safely and effectively manage mobile workforces.

A number of significant Tait DMR customers around the world use Zetron consoles, including Queensland Rail, Kansas City Power and Light, Manitoba Hydro, Alliant Energy and the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security to name a few. Tait and Zetron also share much success with large electricity utility systems, including Puget Sound Energy in the U.S. with its MPT1327 network, the CTEEP P25 system in Brazil, and Ergon Energy in Australia.

Queensland Rail and Ergon Energy are excellent examples of console equipment that supports radio network migration from analogue to digital with minimal impact on control room operations, thanks to Zetron’s flexibility to upgrade existing equipment and support multiple digital standards.

In the public safety arena, the two companies have championed P25 open standards interoperability and are active members of the P25 Solution Centre.

The customer value of Zetron and Tait’s open standards advocacy is evidenced in their work with the Military and Civil Police in the Brazilian cities of São Jose do Rio Preto, Ribeiro Preto and Piracicaba. Following the successful deployment of a P25 conventional network, the Civil Police of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, upgraded to a Tait P25 trunked digital radio network with a Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) to provide greater security and digital communications to more public safety officials within the state. The Tait network is fully integrated with Zetron’s Acom command and control system.

“The flexibility and scalability of our CSSI P25 console system allow the Police dispatchers full usage of P25 voice and data features allowing them to efficiently communicate with first responders in the field,” said Ranjan Bhagat, Vice President & General Manager at Zetron Australasia. “Our successful integration with Tait P25 network for the São Paulo State Police is another excellent example of true interoperability with RF vendors such as Tait who also embrace open P25 standards”.
